NIGHTWATCH FOR EUROPE: week beginning Sunday January 7th 2007

WELCOME TO THIS NIGHT WATCH FOR EUROPE
Big thanks for those of you who gave such good feedback from the last two watches. This is always an exciting time of year to pray as the turn of the year carries its own sense of expectancy. As a result an increasing number of prophets send out a word for the coming year. Martin Scott prefaced his by a useful explanation of the significance of a new year. (If you don’t receive his regular mailing you can subscribe to sowingseeds-subscribe@MyInJesus.com) This week we will pray into several excerpts from his words for the year, together with others from Lee Ann Thompson.

We are simply asking for a commitment of an hour a week some time between 9pm and 6am whatever time zone you are in.
We will send you a brief outline for prayer each week according to the prophetic direction coming from the contemporary prophetic movement in Europe. You will not always agree with everything in the watch material. Go with what you can and trust the Lord to help you with the rest. We are looking to carry on for another year and ten months, while realising that some can’t commit right now for as long as that. We are pleased for you to enlist for as long as you can. If you have to miss an occasional watch it’s OK as the rest of us will carry it. A six-month commitment is probably a good start.
THE CONTENT OF THE WATCH FOR THE WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY JANUARY 7th 2007
1. TAKE 20 MINUTES TO PRAY OVER THIE FOLLOWING EXCERPTS FROM MARTIN SCOTT’S NEW YEAR WORD
i) ‘It will be a year when pathways will increasingly become clear - not so much coming to a crossroads but T-Junctions where the option is the right or the left, going straight on will not be an option. Hence the need to make decisions not based on the fear of consequences.’
Pray for those known to you, including yourself, that face decisions in the workplace, in their church commitments and in their relationships. Pray for key political leaders too. (10 minutes)
ii) ‘Again a year is here for movement. There will be a number of people who seem settled in an area - been resident there for 10 years and more - who will either have moved by the end of the year or be in motion to move. There will be an emphasis on reducing possessions, of travelling light. Some of this will seem to be in the realm of sacrifice, but the spirit of joy is going to manifest in the apparent sacrifice.’
Pray particularly for the hundreds of people involved in this watch, including you, who may be called to make a geographical relocation this year that they will have the willingness to hear and the courage to act. (10 minutes)
2. MARTIN ALSO HAD A WORD FOR FRANCE. TAKE 10 MINUTES TO PRAY OVER IT.
France is marked this year as a sign nation in Western Europe and there will be both a hush come over the nation and also a major anticipation of a new future.
There is the possibility of a rebirth taking place there. In the humanistic and idealistic secular environment of the nation something is growing. The port cities are key to open France spiritually.
3. TAKE 20 MINUTES TO PRAY OVER THESE EXCERPTS FROM LEE ANN THOMPSON’S NEW YEAR WORD
i) ‘This is a Year of Resurrection. It is a year to mark as a ‘Birth Date’ for the raising of the Sons and Daughters of God.
The Eye of the Needle is the Gate of entrance for this season. The Lines of Inheritance have been drawn, and the thread runs through the Eye of the Needle. The first part of this year in particular carries a testing for this posture. (See Mark 10:25)
There is great relief associated with this exercise, as the liberty it brings will accelerate strength and wholeness as well as seeing things shift.’
Use this word to pray for your own sons and daughters if you have them. Pray for the sons and daughters of friends, relatives and neighbours that the lord brings to mind. Pray for the rising generation in your place of work. Pray for the sons and daughters of Europe. (10 minutes)
ii) Lee Ann gives us this verse and then comments on it:
“Behold this Child is appointed for the fall and rise of many in Israel; and for a sign to be opposed-and a sword will pierce even your own soul-to the end that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.” Luke 2:34
As the Lord draws near to us, Simeon’s words again resonate. The King is coming very near now, and the earth and spiritual realms are responding.
The earth itself is yielding up the Sons and Daughters of God. Truth will come forth like a razor edge, and the authority of the Body of Christ will mature.
Pray again for the sons and daughters you prayed for before but now declare this verse over them and tell the earth and what situation they are in to yield them up to the fullness of God’s purposes for their lives. (10 minutes)
4. LEE ANN ALSO HAD A BRIEF BUT SIGNIFICANT WORD FOR IRELAND. TAKE 10 MINUTES TO PRAY OVER THE FOLLOWING
‘Whole families will be touched by God. Ireland will see fathers seeking God to feed their families on the Truth.’
During this last year there have been dramatic developments in Ireland. Harry Smith has published his momentous book calling for repentance for and repudiation of the blood covenants of both republicans and Ulster protestants. Leaders of both main parties in Northern Ireland, Ian Paisley and Martin McInnes went on record as saying that change must come to their entrenched positions for the sake of the children. Pray that they will be true to their statements. Pray for Harry’s book to have great impact, first in the spirit realm and then on religious and political leaders.
