EUROPE/AFRICA RECONCILIATION PROCESS (EARP)

One of the great impacts of every movement of the spirit is the opportunity for the healing of the nations. The move of the Spirit throughout the nineties has been no exception and has led to a restoration of understanding of the power of the cross to deal with the past and present sins of the nations.

Over the past decade the Holy Spirit has instigated a number of initiatives for the reconciliation and healing of Europe and Africa. One example of this is the Europe/Africa Reconciliation Process (EARP).

It began with an initiative to bring greater reconciliation between the European nations, where the Holy Spirit soon showed us our common guilt with regard to Africa. While this has manifested in a multitude of ways from the colonial era until the present day, the Lord guided us particularly to the Berlin/Congo Conference of 1884-85 where thirteen European nations plus the USA divided up Africa between them, without a single African present. The result has been much of the violence and poverty that has torn the continent in the ensuing years.

A group of us Europeans who prayed together enlisted the help of our counterparts in Africa. We decided together to hold an intercessory Berlin/Congo conference to repent for the sins of Europe and then ask our African friends what we should do to be reconciled into a genuine partnership for the kingdom of God.

Six years later after many meetings around Europe with hard work and tears the conference was repeated in November 2005.  Please click here for the report of this conference. Since then, the process has entered a new phase of working together. The council of those involved is meeting at the end of March 2006 to draw up the practical plans for the next stage of the initiative.
